Background
Nusrat Jahan is a public-health writer and researcher based in Dhaka. She has spent more than eight years working in community health research and health communication in Bangladesh. Much of that time was spent in the field: talking with families at community health sessions, helping design simple printed materials about immunization, and listening to the questions people actually ask when they are handed a card, a form or a certificate they do not fully understand.
Her work has included immunization outreach, where the goal was to help caregivers understand why and when children are vaccinated, and health-record literacy projects, which focused on something often overlooked: how ordinary people keep, read and use their own health documents. She has seen first hand how a lost immunization card, a misspelled name or a confusing web page can turn a simple task into weeks of worry. Nusrat is a writer and researcher, not a medical professional, and she does not give medical advice.

At Surokkha Guide, Nusrat writes and maintains every guide on the site. Her focus areas include:

Nusrat starts every guide with primary sources: the official portal at surokkha.gov.bd, the Directorate General of Health Services at dghs.gov.bd, and international guidance from the World Health Organization and UNICEF. For travel topics she also checks public travel-health guidance from the CDC. She never enters real personal data into official systems to test them, and she never asks readers for theirs.

"Most people are not looking for a lecture," Nusrat says. "They want to know what to do next, what to bring, and how to avoid paying someone for something that should be free. If a guide helps one worker catch a passport mismatch before a flight, or helps one parent find out how to catch up a missed dose, it has done its job."
She is also clear about the limits of the site. Surokkha Guide is independent and unofficial. It cannot register anyone or change any record, and it is not a source of individual medical advice. Her guides always point readers back to the official portal, their local health office or a qualified health professional for the final answer.
