Advertising Disclosure

This page explains how Surokkha Guide is funded and how we treat advertising. The short version is simple: we do not show any advertising today, and we do not publish sponsored content. The rest of this page explains why, and what rules would apply if that ever changed.

How the site is funded

Surokkha Guide is a small, self-funded, independent information website. The costs of running it, such as hosting, the domain and the time spent researching and reviewing guides, are currently covered by the people who run it. We do not receive money from the Government of Bangladesh, DGHS, a2i, the official Surokkha platform, vaccine manufacturers, clinics, travel agencies, recruitment agencies or any other organisation mentioned in our guides.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government body. If you need to register for a vaccine or download, correct or verify a certificate, you must use the official portal at surokkha.gov.bd. You can read more about who we are on our About page.

No advertising at present

There are no display ads, pop-ups, banner ads, native ads or advertising networks on Surokkha Guide. No advertising scripts run on our pages and no advertising cookies are set, as described in our cookie policy and privacy policy.

We made this choice deliberately. Our readers are often trying to complete an important task, such as getting a certificate ready before a flight or a job medical abroad. Ads on a page like that can distract, confuse or even mislead, especially when some advertisers present themselves as "helpers" for government processes.

No sponsored content or paid placement

No one can pay to be mentioned, recommended, ranked or linked in our guides. We do not publish sponsored posts, advertorials, guest posts written for payment or "partner" articles. We do not sell links. If an organisation contacts us offering money for coverage, we decline.

When we mention an organisation, website or service, it is because it is relevant and useful to readers, most often because it is an official or authoritative source. Our choices follow our editorial policy and our sources and references policy.

If we ever introduce advertising

We may one day decide that carefully chosen advertising is needed to keep the site running. If that happens, we will update this page, our privacy policy and our cookie policy before any ad appears, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it. We will also follow these rules, which we are committing to publicly now:

• Clear labels. Every ad will be clearly marked as "Advertisement" and visually separated from our editorial content, so it can never be mistaken for part of a guide.
• No influence on content. Advertisers will have no say over what we write, what we recommend, which sources we cite or when we update a guide. Our writer and editor will not be told which companies advertise.
• No paid editorial. Buying an ad will never buy a mention, a review, a link or a better position in our content.
• No "certificate services" or fixers. We will never accept ads for services that offer to register people, download, correct, speed up or "guarantee" vaccine certificates for a fee, or for agents and middlemen who claim special access to government systems.
• No imitation of government services. We will not accept ads that copy the look, name, colours or wording of government portals, or that could make readers think they are dealing with an official body.
• No risky health ads. We will not accept ads for unproven treatments, products that claim to replace vaccination, or anything that could put readers' health at risk.
• No personal-data collection. We will not accept ads that ask readers for NID numbers, birth registration numbers, phone numbers, OTPs or dates of birth.

Health content stays independent

Our health-related guides are written by our lead writer, Nusrat Jahan, and fact-checked against official and authoritative sources by our health content editor, Arif Hossain (our guides are not reviewed by a medical professional). Neither of them receives payment from vaccine manufacturers, clinics or health businesses in connection with this site. If that ever changed, it would be disclosed on their author pages and on the relevant guides. Our content remains informational only, as explained in our disclaimer.

Beware of anyone selling "access"

Because we do not sell anything, you can be sure that anyone who contacts you claiming to represent Surokkha Guide and offering a paid service is not genuine. We will never ask you for money, and we will never ask for your NID, birth registration number, OTP, password or certificate. If you receive such a message, do not respond, and consider reporting it to the relevant authorities.

We also do not use affiliate links. Our separate affiliate disclosure explains what affiliate links are and why we have chosen not to use them.

Advertisers and agencies who contact us should understand that the answer to paid editorial requests is always no.
