Editorial Policy

This editorial policy explains the principles behind everything published on Surokkha Guide. Our readers use our guides to make decisions about identity documents, travel, work abroad and their family's health. We take that responsibility seriously, and we want you to be able to see exactly how our content is made.

Independence

Surokkha Guide is an independent, unofficial information website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of Bangladesh, DGHS, a2i or the official Surokkha platform. No government body, company, recruitment agency, clinic or other organisation reviews or approves our content before publication, and none can pay to change what we write.

Because we are independent, we never present ourselves as a place where registration, certificate downloads, corrections or verification happen. Every guide that describes one of those actions links to the official portal at surokkha.gov.bd and makes clear that the official portal, and the health offices it directs you to, are the only authoritative source.

Accuracy

We aim for every statement on the site to be accurate, clearly sourced and current at the time of its last review. Our writers rely on primary and authoritative sources: the official portal, the Directorate General of Health Services at dghs.gov.bd, the World Health Organization, UNICEF and, for travel health, the CDC. Our sources and references policy explains how we rank and cite sources.

Where we are not confident a detail is well established, such as a precise fee, a deadline, a processing time or the exact wording of a menu on a website, we either leave it out or describe it in general terms and tell readers to confirm on the official portal.

Care with health information

Vaccination and health records are "your money or your life" topics: mistakes can affect someone's health, finances or ability to travel. We therefore apply extra care:

• We describe processes in general terms and note that steps, eligibility and web addresses can change.
• We never give individual medical advice. Health guides encourage readers to speak to a qualified health professional about their own situation.
• We present vaccine information in line with guidance from WHO, UNICEF and national health authorities, without exaggeration in either direction.
• Source-checked, not clinically reviewed. Every guide is fact-checked against official and authoritative sources before publication. Our guides are not reviewed by a medical professional, and we tell readers to confirm health decisions with a qualified doctor or health worker.

Authorship and review

Every guide names its writer and the editor who fact-checked it. Our lead writer, Nusrat Jahan, researches and writes our guides. Our health content editor, Arif Hossain, fact-checks every guide against the official portal, DGHS, WHO and UNICEF before publication and at each re-review. Neither of them is a medical professional, and our guides are not reviewed by one. We plan to add a qualified clinical reviewer in future; if we do, each guide will show it clearly. Their profiles describe their backgrounds and areas of focus. Each guide shows a "Last reviewed" date so you can see when it was last checked.

Updates and corrections

We review every guide at least once every six months, and sooner when we learn that an official process, web address or recommendation has changed. When we make a substantive change, we update the "Last reviewed" date. When we correct a factual error, we fix it promptly and, where the error could have affected a reader's decisions, add a short correction note explaining what changed. Handling changes to official information

Official processes change. Portals are redesigned, eligibility rules are updated and new document options are introduced. When we notice or are told about a change, we:

• Check the change against the official portal or another primary source.
• Update affected guides, or add a clear notice at the top of a guide if we are still confirming details.
• Avoid repeating unverified claims from social media or unofficial websites.
• Keep telling readers to confirm the current steps on the official portal before acting.

Conflicts of interest

Our writer and editor do not accept payment, gifts or favours from anyone in exchange for coverage. They must tell the editor about any personal or financial interest that could reasonably be seen to affect their work on a guide, and they step back from that guide if needed. We do not recommend paid agents, "fast-track" services or unofficial certificate helpers, and we do not accept sponsored content. We currently carry no advertising and no affiliate links; see our advertising disclosure and affiliate disclosure.

Use of tools and AI

Like many publishers, we may use software tools, including AI-based tools, to help with parts of our work, such as organising research notes, checking spelling and grammar, or suggesting a first outline. These tools never have the final word. Every page on Surokkha Guide is written, checked and approved by a human editor, and every guide is fact-checked against its sources by our health content editor. Our guides are not reviewed by a medical professional. We do not publish automatically generated text without human review.

The illustrative photographs used across our guides and category pages are AI-generated images. They are included to make pages easier to read and do not show real people, real patients, real documents or real events. They never contain official emblems, logos or readable personal information.
